Happy Birthday To Me!!

Sunday was my 31st birthday! Yes, I will wait a minute while you stop gasping in amazement. THIRTY FREAKING ONE YEARS OLD!!

Okay I know it is shocking since ya know, I only look 21 at most. HAHAHA! The good news is I have kept my sense of sarcasm in my old age. It is after all my most prized possession.

So Sunday my hubs completely spoiled me!

First we went and ate Japanese food for lunch! Big ups to my friend Danielle who on 10 minutes notice agreed to keep London for us so we could go. It was DELICIOUS!

Next Mike took London to store for like two hours. It was GLORIOUS! Holden actually took a nap and shockingly so did I!

Then when Mike and London got home, and London proudly announced "Daddy cleaned your car". We all walked outside, after cutting the cake they also brought home, and saw my freshly cleaned and vacuumed car.

As if that wasn't awesome enough, I walked back in to see this beauty sitting on the kitchen counter.
What's your favorite K-cup?

The note, written on an empty envelope none the less, says:

Pretend that I'm a very romantical red bow. And that I am wrapped. Thanks.
Always, Mike

Who says romance dies when you get married? Well it kinda does but that is when your true sense of humor kicks in. I think the funny note was my favorite part of the day. :)

Today is London's Birthday! His is 3 years old, can you believe it?  I will update with a bunch of pictures of his birthday party tomorrow. It was Angry Bird themed, and we had a blast.

I'm Going to...

BlogHer '12!!

I'll be childfree at BlogHer '12

To say I am excited is a total understatement! I am excited beyond word, no, I am excited beyond CAP LOCKS and exclamation marks.

Let me break it down for you, I am going....

...to be child free for 3 days in NYC!
....to listen to speakers that I already love to read!
...learn to be a better blog writer AND blog designer!
...meet  bloggers that I know on the interwebs IN PERSON!

And my favorite
....spend 3 days being completely selfish, eating rich food, and drinking way too much wine!

Post Baby Weight Gain?

I'm fat! UGH!

Remember this picture from when I was 11 days postpartum?

I looked GOOD (well at least I thought so)

especially considering that I looked like THIS 11 days before.

How is it humanly possible that I have GAINED 13 lbs since I was 2 weeks postpartum?

Yes you read that correctly, I was 13 lbs lighter 2weeks after giving birth than I am today. I have no idea what is going on. My body HATES me.

Here are my theories...

1) I'm almost 31 now, and my metabolism SUCKS.

2) My hormones are still all out of whack because I'm breastfeeding.

3) I'm 2 days pregnant with Edward Cullen's love child, and any day now the weight LOSS is going to kick in. (Can you tell I just watched Breaking Dawn?)

Anyway you look at it, this seriously sucks! I already have the "I just had a baby and now feel disgusting" blues. Not postpartum, but more like a mourning of what I USED to look like and feel like. I have ZERO time for myself.

-My hair is starting to grey!

-I feel fat!

-None of my clothes fit me!

-On a good day I get a shower, but lets me honest, even being clean isn't all that relaxing when you have a 3 month old screaming at you, and a toddler making you constantly wipe the glass because he "can't see you"

-I've done my hair, oh maybe, 3 times since having Holden. The rest of the time it is thrown up into a bun.

-I have not worked out in almost a year now! I wasn't allowed to work out while pregnant, and now I'm having trouble dedicating what little free time I do have to working out.

-I haven't gotten my nails done in about 5 months! I bite my nails so I always try to keep acrylics on, to make my man hands a little more feminine. I pulled them off before Holden was born for fear of scratching him those first few weeks.

-Did I mention that I turn 31 in like 10 days?

Part of my problem is that Holden is not the amazing sleeper that London was. For the past 10 days Holden has been waking up every 1-2 hours. It is TORTURE! I'm not sure if its a growth spurt, or just his new found attitude, but I can't take it! I swear I have to drink 20 oz a coffee each morning just to function!

You know what's funny is I remember feeling this exact way after London was born. I started working out, eating better, went on a shopping spree and within a month I was feeling great again. I just need to put in the effort and MAKE myself a priority!

The New Sound of Infertility.

I have two kids. TRUE!

But you can NOT take away my struggle with infertility just because I have had success.

I love my boys more than anything in the world...True! However when I think of my past I can not forget the way I felt each month while trying to conceive. It was painful and I can still feel it in my gut now. How I felt every time some one said relax or told me how their great grand mommy didn't get pregnant for 9 years, and she didn't even have access to infertility treatments. UGH!! I swear every woman who ever had a baby KNEW how to get me pregnant. None of it worked until I forked over $6,000 plus dollars, gave myself over 60 injections (with in 2 weeks), and put my feet in the stirrups for a doctor wielding a giant needle.

Thankfully that worked though.

So if you know me at all, you know I lurve music, and tonight when I heard Jason Mraz new(ish) song, I couldn't help but think about infertility.

"God knows we're worth it"
