Hey momma, get some nipple shields. I used them for the first 3 months of nursing my last baby. You can get them from your le leche leader or Walmart or target. They are a thin plastic that helps your nipple heal. I washed in warm soapy water after each feeding and just kept them near where I fed baby. Worked so well. Here is what they look like. Medela makes them.

Try to get ahold of your LC as soon as possible. It should not be that painful to breastfeed by now, it's definitely the latch, or I had a friend whose baby was kinda chewing at the nipple instead, she contacted the LC who gave her some nipple shields and it helped a ton! :)

Mackenzie was kind of ambivalent about Addie for the first two weeks or so. She didn't really want to hold her and was just mildly interested. After that she has gotten really interested in her, asks for her, wants to hold her and help with everything. Mackenzie was also really fascinated by her umbilical stump...except she thought it was poop. She kept saying "Baby Addison has poop on her belly!"
