5 Weeks and Maternity Clothes?

Today marks the beginning of pregnancy week number 5!!! Is it too early for maternity clothes?

Am I the only one who LOVES maternity clothes? Some of them are not the most stylish things in the world, but WOW maternity jeans are comfy. I mean they are the perfect mixture between jeans and yoga pants. It seriously doesn't get any better than that.  I definitely don't need maternity clothes right now. Sure I've got some bloat and the extra weight I gained during my IVF cycle, but besides that my little orange seed(s) are definitely not protruding yet. Oh how I long for the day when I can, without fear of jinxing myself, break into the wonderful world of stretchy waistbands.

I mean look at this lady lounging in a tree, wtf??? Doesn't she look comfortable in her maternity clothes?
For pete sake people, she is in a TREE, but the very idea of maternity clothes make me want to throw on a full panel maternity skirt and join her.

Hell, maternity clothes even make this incredibly awkward picture look comfortable.  Which reminds me, I MUST have this mermaid outfit! Any suggestions on where I would find such a tacky beautiful garment?

On a serious note, a friend of mine sent me two big boxes of her maternity clothes a few weeks ago, and I am dying to break into those bad boys. It was like a mini shopping spree because we wear the same size and have very similar taste in clothing. Thanks again Chandra!! :)

I'm still not feeling many symptoms. My boobs aren't really tender at all this time. Although that might be because I don't spend half of my day squeezing them just to make sure they are still tender, thus proving I'm still pregnant, like I did last time. I have had some wicked car sickness recently though. It's crazy! I have always been prone to car sickness but it's usually only if I try to read or sit in the backseat. Well  since I got my BFP I have been really sensitive. The other day, Mike was driving and I looked down just for a split second to dial a phone number and I almost puked. I fel t nauseous for hours. I would have written it off as just a coincidence, but it's happened several times since then. Needless to say, I will be the one doing the driving for the next few weeks until that passes.

Well I'm off to bed, I've got a TON of blog work to do but I can't keep my eyes open for another second. My bed and a box a few girl scout cookies are calling my name. :)

Not to early. Last time before I m/c my bbs were so big I had to bust out the maternity shirts and I was so bloated out came the pants. All about 4 1/2 weeks.

I was in maternity clothes pretty early. I tried a belly band and hated it. It did take me a while to find good jeans though but now that I have them I love them.

wow, those pics...ummm, wow! is that mermaid outfit made of plastic bags? ha ha! i say break out the spandex and get comfy. you're probably going to need to soon, anyway, since i'm sure you've got more than one little bean in there. :)

I still have a while before maternity clothes. With M, I started wearing them at 10 weeks. Maybe because its the second time, its not as exciting. However, when I do start wearing them, I get to buy a whole new maternity wardrobe! A) Since I thought we weren't going to pregnant for a while longer I gave all mine to my pregnant friend and B) They are all winter maternity clothes and I am going to need spring summer clothes :)

And funny you mention the boob thing, mine didn't bother me for a long time (I swear they were really sore with M). Just this week (week 10) they have started getting really sore. And yes, I still squeeze them to make sure I am still pregnant.

I definitely bought maternity clothes last time waaaay before I actually needed them. I was just too excited to be able to finally buy maternity clothes! I say wear them whenever you feel comfortable with wearing them. :)

I was so happy for my donated maternity clothes early on - with the bloating, and the "you need to put on weight" order, I grew out of my pants pretty much IMMEDIATELY. Of course, now I'm growing out of the maternity pants. LOL. Start with leggings and yoga type pants - they are SOOOOOOOO happy! So enjoy the stretchy pants!

No worries! I did the same. It felt better to have those panels on my tummy because of the injections. Plus, I could eat wall I want and not have to worry about undoing the button! Bust out the maternity! I sure wish I could still wear my maternity pants (5 months post preg) without getting strange looks... boy were those pants comfy... I dunno, rolling a 5 month old around in maternity jeans... Hmmm...

Have you seen Pajama Jeans? You might try them. They seem a little odd, but I bet they're comfy!

Hi, I'm 4w1d preggers on my second cycle. My first i got preggo too but m/c at 10 weeks. I too am constantly squeezing my boobs to reassure myself. I feel a little nervous today cause they are a were bit less sore but I'm wondering if I'm imagining it. My beta is on Monday. Excited but super scared as well. I love your blog! Glad I found it and I can't wait to hear about you u/s!

Congratulations on your second IVF miracle! I agree, maternity pants are the best, I wore them for a while after I had my little boy. It took us 5 years to get our first IVF miracle and hope to be trying for number 2 soon. Is it any less stressful?
